SPF is NOT your enemy

There are MANY reasons why SPF is a good idea. Here are just a few:

Wow that is sexy! See, pale gurls don’t have to worry about being this wrinkled at 35!

Oh, the family that overly tans together, stays together…oh wait, that’s not right. Families that overly tan together just break up and then get melanoma.

Today even the palest of pale gurls can appear tan. Spray tans are the new “pretend” tan for the uv-impaired; however, all of these spray tan companies have yet to perfect the color. Most spray tans often give you a case of orangeitious a la Lindsay Lohan style -

Tanorexia from a bottle can be almost as dangerous as from the sun.

Pale Gurls should beware of trying to switch to the darkER side…you don’t want to end up looking like tall glass of Sunkist Orange.

Everyone is always talking about people being TOO PALE, but there is a such thing as being too tan:

Now that’s some tanned skin.

Bronzed to the MAX!

See the Pales and the Tans can get along and co-exist, but a little SPF goes a long way in this friendship. Friends don’t let friends go out without SPF!

too tan

You know it’s a problem when your chest hair looks like crispy bacon.  Diagnosis = TOO TAN!

tans and pales coexist

More proof that the Tans and the Pales can coexist in harmony. Don’t get it twisted…orange is not the new tan.

whoa

“Trying too hard?” More like giving up and not trying at all. Come on girl, SPF wants to start an immediate and intimate relationship with you. I mean, you’re only 21 years old and you could pass as my gran!

  • Oh my! Thanks for those pics–It really should motivate people to use sunscreen once they see these and especially once they develop skin cancer.
I found your blog just surfing and I also write for the UV Skinz blog (http://blog.uvskinz.com) and would love it if you would consider being a guest blogger sometime. For the month of May (Skin Cancer Awareness Month) I have had 2 guest bloggers talk about their experience surviving skin cancer, but you can write about anything sun protection related. Or anti-tanning related…
I think your posts are funny and interesting. It would be fun to work with you and you would definitely get lots of linky love!
You can email me at kalisha@uvskinz.com if you are interested.
    Thanks! Kalisha

  • I. Love. You.. and your blog.

I have always been, “ridiculed” for lack of a better word, for my porcelain skin. I always said “I think it’s pretty” and didn’t care. This was until people like the celebrities you’ve mentioned on your page started to brighten up the red carpet. Then I’d get compliments on the same porcelain skin people used to tell me cover up.

In fact, I’ve long since been looking for a way to not exactly make my skin more pale, but just more even. Naturally my face and forearms are a few shades darker than my beautiful legs. Does Pale Gurl have any advice?
